Brenda Benjamin


Brenda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in treating clients struggling with issues related to Chronic Illness, Grief and Loss, End-of-Life Care, Caregiver/Compassion Fatigue, Anxiety and Depression. Brenda graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University and completed her Bachelor of Science at Grand Valley State University in Psychology with a special focus on Death and Dying. Her experience includes crisis and trauma concerns, support for hospice patients and loved ones, women managing addiction, assisting adolescents and adults with cognitive disabilities, behavioral management and direct work with adults living with physical disabilities.

Treatment Philosophy

Brenda’s treatment philosophy utilizes a holistic perspective combining various treatment approaches that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques and strength based focus. There is a certain level of creative and qualified skills that are necessary when it comes to choosing our best life. Brenda believes that we each need to find that direction as we move one day into the next and she has found her role in life to be that extra support that can be so pivotal in challenging times.
