Markita Thompson, DNP, AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC, TBHP

Dr. Thompson was awarded Top Doctor of Nursing Practice by the International Nurses Association and featured in the 2018 edition of Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare.
Dr. Markita M. Thompson DNP, AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC, TBHP is a nurse practitioner who received her training at The University of Michigan-Flint. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for which she is board certified. She is also certified by the Telebehavioral Health Institute to deliver medical services online via secure platforms.
Dr. Thompson’s service to the community spans 20+ years. She has extensive experience including clinical staff nursing in primary care, mental health care, urgent care, emergency care and occupational health care. More recently, her clinical nursing experience consists of physical medicine and pain management of patients with acute and chronic pain disorders affecting the spine, muscles, nerves, bones. Presently, Dr. Thompson’s practice includes psychiatry. She manages patients with acute and chronic mental illness in both adult and child/adolescent populations.
Dr. Thompson’s services include a full range of mental health care services including, assessment, diagnosis, education, treatment, medication management, various forms psychotherapy or talk therapy and complementary medicine. Her passion is caring for others and assisting clients and families in transitioning to wellness. As a Detroit native, Dr. Thompson developed an eclectic treatment style blending modern and traditional practices based on her exposure to a variety of different cultures. She believes that every patient deserves a doctor who will work with them where they are to get them through the healing process and on their way to living a happier, more fulfilled life.
Judith Tigay, DNP, FNP-C
Dr. Judith Tigay DNP has been in the medical field for over twenty-five years. She graduated from the University of Michigan as a Registered Nurse in 2003 and began her nursing career as a Lamaze Licensed Certified Childbirth Educator after caring for her children’s illness. She continued to work in a variety of settings as a RN such as mother/baby unit, medical/Surgical unit, psychiatric unit, hospice nurse and home healthcare.
The autonomy in home practice paved the way for further studies as an advanced practice nurse. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Michigan as a Nurse Practitioner. She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of Michigan in 2015. Dr. Tigay has worked in Family Practice, Urgent Care, Pain Management, and most recently, Behavioral Health.
She maintains a social life with her family and friends. She enjoys plays and concerts, dancing and dining out.
